History
LANGTRY FARMS • GUENOC VALLEY • LAKE COUNTY, CA
Stewardship Since 1888
Langtry Farms is a historic California ranch and winery rooted in Guenoc Valley—an expansive volcanic landscape where wilderness and wine have coexisted for generations. This is a place shaped long before vineyards, defined by rugged terrain, mountain air, ancient oaks, and open space that still feels intact.
Unfailing Stewardship Since 1888
“I grew up around wild places. Guenoc Valley is one you carry with you—long after you leave.”
— Aukai Manson
Guenoc Valley, Lake County
A Valley Worth Keeping
Guenoc Valley has always been a working landscape—not a backdrop. Its character comes from scale, isolation, and resilience: volcanic ground, clean watersheds, wildlife corridors, and the steady rhythm of ranch life. We believe places like this don’t need to be invented. They need to be respected.

1888 • Vision
The Langtry Chapter
In 1888, Lillie Langtry arrived in Guenoc Valley and famously declared, “Find me in paradise.” At a time when few recognized the valley’s potential, she saw something enduring—land capable of producing wine with identity, not imitation. Lillie’s legacy isn’t celebrity. It’s vision.
2003 • Stewardship
Stewardship, Carried Forward
Since 2003, Langtry Farms has been stewarded by the Manson family. We didn’t acquire a brand—we committed to a valley. Our approach is grounded in long-term thinking and restraint: work with the land, protect what makes it rare, and leave it better for what comes next. Growing up surrounded by Hawaii's natural beauty, the family brought a deep appreciation for working in harmony with the land rather than against it. Easton Manson's vision extends beyond simple wine production. He saw the potential to create world-class vineyards that honor the landscape's natural character while producing wines that make excellence accessible rather than exclusive. Today Easton’s son, Aukai Manson, leads the charge to share the story of Lake County wines his family has worked so hard to create over the last 22 years.

Connection
Wine as Connection
Our wines are expressions of place—shaped by volcanic ground, elevation, climate, and time. We believe wine’s true role is connection: to the land it comes from, to the people who make it, and to the moments shared around a table.

The Langtry Legacy:
Unfailing Stewardship Since 1888
In 1888, Lillie Langtry recognized what we celebrate today. Upon first seeing Guenoc Valley, she declared: “Find me in paradise.” She believed this land could produce wine with identity—
not imitation. During her ownership from 1888 to 1906, Lillie produced what she proudly called “the greatest claret in the country”—a testament to the valley’s exceptional winemaking potential that continues today.
